Reminder: WTC Families for Proper Burial Rally at Ground Zero,

Saturday, September 9, 2006, at 11:15 a.m.

Rally to alert the public to the sad fact that to this day, many of the remains of the 9/11 dead are still at the Fresh Kills Landfill in Staten Island. We need to meet in a public place to talk about the status of our efforts to get Mayor Bloomberg to remove the remains from the garbage dump, to learn about the status of our law suit and to stress what is yet to be done and how you can help.

We encourage you to join us and bring your family and friends.

Date: Saturday, September 9, 2006
Time: 11:15 A.M.
Place: Intersection of Church Street and Fulton Street, in front of the PATH station at the WTC site

We will have some signs, but please bring your own if you can. Suggested text below:

1. Ashes to Ashes
Dust to Dump
NO!!!

2. Rest in Peace
Not in Garbage

3. Mayor Bloomberg: A Proper Burial
Not a Garbage Dump

Rally organizers will be providing purple and black ribbons for all to wear during this 5th anniversary weekend. Please wear purple and black if you can...a shirt, bandanna, hat-- anything . These are the colors so many of us have used to drape doorways and windows as we mourn our dead. These colors will show our solidarity and absolute resolve that all our dead be given a decent burial as prescribed by law, by faith and by human decency.

If you have any questions, please write to WTCFamiliesforProperBurial@comcast.net.
