|Hope Sculpture - World Cares PRESS RELEASE
Sculpture “HOPE: The Joy of Selflessness” is currently on exhibit at WORLD CARES September Space Lower Manhattan Center, 11 Broadway (11th Floor), NY, NY 10004. The center is open Monday and Thursdays 12pm-9pm, Tuesdays 10am-6pm, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8am-5pm. Directions and special screenings are available by calling 646-289-3098 or online www.worldcares.org.
Standing 8’ tall with base pedestal, this sculpture is an expression of the combined spiritual energy of all lives lost on September 11, 2001. It highlights the care and additional sacrifice of countless people, from all corners of this nation, who rushed to the aid of fellow brothers and sisters in our greatest moment of need.
The sculpture is the creation of Robert L. Landry, son of Detroit decorated firefighter Larry Landry. Robert studied classical art under the renowned Greek-Italian sculptor John Pappas and received his MA degree. He currently teaches in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Mr. Landry's art work is also a passion of encouragement and gratitude to those who have made, and continue to make selfless efforts and contributions toward healing, reconciliation of this tragedy, and a better community.
Beyond the intrinsic beauty, this contemporary sculpture presents an icon that captures the resolve of America. HOPE is a beacon for the future - that through education and artwork, tolerance will prevail.
This exhibit is sponsored by the WORLD MEMORIAL North America Tour and will be viewable at the WORLD CARES center through the winter holidays.
