Good News

They caught the tagger who went by the tag Zest. One of the worst offenders on Staten Island, not only graffiti but an assortment of charges including a burglary. He is now spending at least 30 days in Rikers.

I have been contacted by the new Graffiti Task Force as they want to work closely with us. They catch we clean.

We will be out tomorrow night preparing the next mural site on Armstrong and Hylan.

Lemon Creek Bridge which was identified by Jamie Lee in today’s Advance.

Saturday morning we will be out with Officer Bailey from the 122 Precinct (with 7 offenders sentenced to community service through Where to Turn) and we will be hitting these major spots among others

Abandoned gas station on Richmond Ave and Platinum

The American Deli on Richmond Ave

The old amusement center on Sand Lane

The construction site on Hylan Blvd and Tysens Lane (again)

Victoria Larsen has set up a meeting with the mayor’s rep from the Mayor’s CAU Graffiti unit and I will be meeting with him tomorrow to discuss cleaning up the database of sites to be cleaned on Staten Island.

I also spoke with Sgt Goodwyn to possibly use an auxiliary officer to do a quick survey of the remaining sites to see which still need to be done and what would be needed.

The following have expressed interest in sponsoring murals or getting involved in other projects.

SIBOR
Victory Savings Bank
Empire State Bank
Wells Fargo Bank

Keep spreading the word

Dennis
