To All,

We would just like to say thank you to:

The Staten Island Graffiti Task Force of the NYPD and all of the officers on Staten Island for aggressively going after these vandals.

The District Attorney’s Office for prosecuting them

The judges for sentencing them appropriately for their crimes.

And Councilman Oddo and other local officials for supporting these anti graffiti efforts.

Take a look at these Staten Island Advance articles below to see some of the results.

We will continue to do our part with weekly cleanups and making sure that those sentenced work off their time by cleaning up graffiti.

We will be out tomorrow with the 122 and plan to clean up another 10-15 locations.

We are still looking for some support from our local developers to clean up construction sites and we have not gotten any responses from our local businesses for our Strike Out Graffiti Program. (see link below)

If we are going to make an impact we need everyone to work together.

We need businesses and home owners to sign waivers.

We need the Sanitation Department to start issuing summonses to businesses that do not clean up graffiti or who refuse to sign waivers.

We need schools to start adopting streets around their locations and create graffiti free zones (we will supply paint and supplies)

Together we can get this under control.

Dennis

TAG, HE'S IT

Police arrested a Great Kills man on misdemeanor charges after, court papers allege, they used his Web page on a social networking site to track him to his graffiti tag.
Cops say David Y. Siegel, 25, of East Brandis Avenue, left his tag three times over the past two years -- in black permanent marker on a stop sign in Rossville in March 2007, in spray paint on the wall of a Mariners Harbor gas station in March 2008, and in spray paint on the wall of a Rossville pork store sometime between July and November of 2008.
He's charged with three counts each of fourth-degree criminal mischief and making graffiti.
