We had a really good meeting with the Mayor’s Office today.

They were very interested in our graffiti work here on Staten Island.

We agreed that we would concentrate on the paintovers and that the EDC would concentrate on the locations that needed power washing.

The Mayor’s Office will supply us with an updated list each week identifying locations that need paintovers and indicate the color needed.

This will enable us to concentrate on specific locations.

We also made them aware that we need paint for future locations and we hope that they will work on a better process to supply us with paint.

We also had an opportunity to view the VolunteerNYC website.

We will be using this site to supplement the Where to Turn Student Volunteer Database as it will allow students registered through Where to Turn to input their hours. We will confirm the entries and track all volunteer hours.

The site will also allow us to post up coming events which will be promoted through the site in return we will update their events through our site as well.

The Mayor’s Office will have representatives at our April 4th Information Fair to demonstrate how to access the site.

All students attending the forum will have an opportunity to register through the site.

We will begin using the site immediately and will be sending out additional information shortly.

We will also have more information about today’s meeting at tomorrow’s press conference.
