WHY: To raise funds to help provide health care for ailing heroic Ground Zero workers.
Many of those who responded on and after 9/11 are sick with respiratory and other diseases that can cause permanent disability. Some have lost their jobs and have no health insurance. In 2007-08, George Martin, humanitarian, retired NFL star and NY Giants Super Bowl XXI co-captain, walked 3,003 miles from NYC to San Diego to raise nearly $3 million for this cause. This time, he wont be walking alone!
Other supporters, who will meet Martin upon his arrival at Giants Stadium include:

OJ Anderson, Super Bowl XXV MVP, 2x Pro Bowl RB
Joe Morris, retired NY Giant (1982-1989), 2x Pro Bowl RB
Keith Hamilton, retired NY Giant (1992-2003), 1x Pro Bowl DE
Gary Jeter, retired NY Giant DE (1977-1989), All Rookie 1977
Bruce Harper, all time kick returner in NJ Jets history (1977-84)
