NEW WORLD TRADE CENTER "TOWER OF LIGHT" TO BE UNVEILED
"New York is to the nation what the white spire is to the village - the visible symbol of aspiration and faith." - E.B. White, 1962
March 23, 2011 (Manhattan, NY)
A new architectural tower proposed for the new World Trade Center is being presented by The Tower Of Light Corporation on April 30th, 2011 at St. Peter's Church Sanctuary at the CitiCorp Center in Manhattan.
The Tower Of Light is a proposed 2001-foot structure covered in LED light, which was created by Kevin Wallace, a NYC designer who was close to the World Trade Center when the buildings collapsed on September 11fr), 2001. The tower would be the tallest monument in the world.
A scale model of the new tower will be on display at St. Peter's on April 30th 2011.
A graphic preview of the tower, site plans, and three proposed financing options can presently be viewed online at www.NycTowerOfLight.com.
The group behind the new tower states that their new plan would enable Governor Cuomo and Governor Christie to save 2 billion dollars in the NY and NJ State Budgets, as its construction calls for a major cost-saving reduction and simplification of the World Trade Center subway station.
"We have been in the process of raising private capital to build this new tower, and we feel very strongly that this is something that both New Yorkers and the American public would like to see realized," says Joshua Silverman of Tower Capital, a co-producer of The Tower Of Light project.
Doors open at 7 PM.
The Tower Of Light Corporation is a new development group proposing a new plan to complete the unfinished WTC site; they assert the new plan will resolve the Gordian knot of financial, political, and engineering problems that have plagued WTC redevelopment over the last few years.
