9/11 Parents and Families of Firefighters Outraged
at Admission Fee to 9/11 Museum

The 9/11 Parents and Families of Firefighters are outraged at the proposed $20 or $25 entrance fee to the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Similar sites at Pearl Harbor and Civil War battle sites charge no fee at all. The National 9/11 M&M is NOT the Metropolitan museum and has no similarities. The WTC site is the scene of the worst tragedy in American history, where people will come to pay their respects to 2,753 murdered American heroes.

The National 9/11 M&M is for all Americans and tourists, not just the rich and privileged!! It will cost 60 million dollars annually to run the museum . In these tough economic times, with 14 million Americans unemployed and more under employed, the 9/11 Parents and Families of Firefighters call for this budget to be slashed dramatically. The outlandish salaries being paid to Museum officials should be trimmed along with any other unnecessary costs in this ridiculously bloated budget. Guess their on-site gift shop and restaurant can't raise enough money for this NON profit organization.

We also call on the National 9/11 M&M to send a letter to all 2,753 families of 9/11 victims regarding the placement of our loved ones human remains in the museum. It is totally unprofessional and unethical to do this without the consent of the families of the 9/11 victims. We were told early on that human remains would be kept SEPARATE and DISTINCT from any museum or visitor's center. We have been forced to try and contact all 2,753 families through a Freedom of Information Law Request (FOIL) because of steep opposition from the city of NY and National 9/11 M&M officials. Let all the families have a say in where our loved will be placed.

A copy of our FOIL letter is available upon request.
