August 6th 2011 12:55 p.m.

Mount Rushmore South Dakota

WHAT: With four US Statesmen looking on with approval, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln, the PATROT FLAG (75 Lbs - 30 X 56 foot) was flown for 3 hours from a Keystone Fire Department fire truck at Mount Rushmore when the cross country tour of the United Sates in honor of the fallen on 9/11/01 was completed. The flag represents the resolve of AMERICANS and our quest to live free. A message is conveyed: WE STILL STAND UNITED AND WE ALWAYS WILL. The flag also honors the public safety personnel on the job today willing to risk their lives for others. And the Armed Forces of America that are and have in the past preserved our freedom.

WHERE: It flew in 180 cities and traveled 112,115 miles throughout AMERICA to arrive at Mount Rushmore on 8/6/11 hosted by local Fire and Police Departments and Veterans Groups.

WHEN: Began in San Diego Sept 10th 2010. The flag completed the task on August 6th 2011

WHY: To promote two words and a statement; NEVER FORGET / Keeping the memories alive

HOW: This project is managed as a grassroots effort by citizens, veterans and public safety personnel. It was conceived by a California Fire Fighter Paramedic and an American Legion Veteran and supported by WORLD MEMORIAL, a nonprofit charity.

After the yearlong tour, the flag will be flown in Shanksville PA, Arlington VA and NYC on 09/11/11 for the Ten Year Anniversary. It will be retired in a ceremony on Oct 2nd in Escondido California where the project began.
