Did you lose money because of Hurricane Sandy? Do you need help buying food?
Who can get D-SNAP help with food?
1) You must have lived in one of these zip codes on October 27.
Coney Island (11224 and 11235)
South of Allen Avenue in Coney Island (part of 11229)
Red Hook (11231)
The Rockaways (11691, 11692, 11693, 11694, and 11697)
The Southeastern shore of Staten Island (10306)
N. Midland Beach South of Seaview Ave on Staten Island (part of 10305)
Lower Manhattan (10002)
2) You must have lost money due to Hurricane Sandy. Only people who spent money because of the storm can apply for D-SNAP. These costs can include damage to your home or your car, or costs for eating out or staying in a motel? (Loss of food does not count.)
**You do not have to have a green card or be a citizen to apply. All immigrants are eligible.**
You may be eligible even if you have been sanctioned by SNAP.
You have to apply in person at one of two city offices.
