FEMA and Home Owners Insurance

Please note; if you have filed with FEMA and they have declined any payment, And you have filed with your own Homeowner insurance /Auto etc. and have been declined or not covered for enough damages - call FEMA ASAP and inform them of being declined from your carrier. FEMA will then cover ALL COSTS for damages incurred by SANDY that your own insurance did not cover. You MUST have a letter of being declined from your own insurance company. Also if you have not received any notice and still waiting for an answer form your insurance carrier ask them to send you a letter stating of insurance being DELAYED. Please pass this on

Sandy Holiday Toy Store Update

Day seven and another 47 families and 170 toys distributed

Santa stopped by for Casual Friday

In only seven days we have distributed 1589 toys

We are waiting on the 1,000 Hess trucks.

We also received quite a few calls about people planning to donate.

We are finalizing plans with Scott to do his tin foil sculpture tomorrow.

We are going to get $1,000 in gift cards for older kids.

Many people are now coming in because of word of mouth.

We are also getting 20 Christmas trees

We expect it to be busy this weekend so we could use some volunteers

Hope to see you over the weekend.

I know you may think that it is a little early for this but I want to catch the college kids before they go home for the break.

Every year we run a Prom Dresses for all through which we collect used prom dresses have them dry cleaned and make them available to girls who cannot afford them.

Come May I am sure that there will be a lot more girls in that situation.

So I am asking any young lady who has a prom dress that she is never going to re-use to donate it to Where to Turn and we will get it to a needy Sandy victim so that they will not miss out on their prom.

We will begin collecting in January while we are running our Re-Gifting for a Good Cause Program. See details below.

Prom dresses can be dropped off at

150-L Greaves Lane # 312
Staten Island NY 10308

Or if your school would like to collect we will come and pick them up.
