|The following are the Where to Turn Programs established to support Sandy victims.
Holiday Store for Sandy Victims
-Our Toy Store in space donated by ATU 725 was opened from 12/8-12/24
-Staffed by volunteers we were open Noon to 8:00 PM every day and distributed over 7,500 toys and 15,000 stocking stuffers
Where to Turn Crisis Relief Network
-Daily updates on news and events pertaining to Sandy
-Website allows local support organizations to link to site
- E-mail distribution and social media connections to over 15,000
Storage Units for Sandy Victims
-Making storage units available to displaced Sandy Victims
-Have funding (Robin Hood) for 16 units have provided 6
-Attempting to obtain PODS
Back to Basics
-Working with Eden II and the EWC of the SIEDC
-For 3 months we have been collecting new and gently used furniture and appliances
-We have stored the items in a donated warehouse
-We have been accepting applications from Sandy Victims and delivering to them weekly
Prom Dresses for Sandy Victims
-We have collected nearly 250 new and slightly used prom dresses and have had dry cleaned
-We will continue to collect and make all of the dresses available to students impacted by Sandy so they can attend their proms
-We are currently working to collect accessories and shoes
-We are also recruiting local stylists to do complete makeovers for participants
Dry Wall and Lumber for Victims
-We are setting up a fund to purchase only dry wall and lumber
-100% of funds donated (with a slight service fee for credit card donations) will go to purchases
-We will ask local businesses to contribute and ask ranting organizations to match what we collect

We have a meeting with the Robin Hood Foundation tomorrow to discuss our plans for permanent disaster relief plan and we have also been asked to work on the NYS plan.
We are on the panel and are also pressing the government to conduct an audit of all the major charities to see that all funds collected actually get to the victims.
All of the programs above are run on a completely volunteer basis with no salaried employees.
