From Sat Apr 06, 2013 9:45 am to Sat Apr 06, 2013 4:00 pm (included)
|Anyone interested in this is welcome to attend. Any who do attend, pay very close attention to what is being shown and discussed as far as the "future planning" goes. Rumor has it that what is being discussed/planned as a possibility, may not be what we are really looking at for the future of our community.
We need more community involvement in these workshops, etc. as we (the civic board) cannot attend everything that is being offered. The more involved, the more say we will hopefully have as to what becomes of our community.
SImagines: Planning for Recovery Program
A Community Visioning Workshop
EAST SHORE: Saturday, April 6th
9:45 AM to 4 PM
Please allow me to introduce Tim Boyland, Pablo Vengoechea and David Businelli, Executive Directors of SImagines: The Staten Island Planning for Recovery Program.
SImagines is a program of the Staten Island Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, in partnership with the Hunter College Department of Urban Affairs and Planning and the American Planning Association. The purpose of the program is to develop a shared, unified, community vision of the future Staten Island in the aftermath of super storm Sandy.
AIA Staten Island and Hunter College Department of Urban Affairs and Planning have designed a series of Planning and Reconstruction Workshops with assistance from the American Planning Association, FEMA and The College of Staten Island. These workshops will bring Staten Island residents and community leaders together in a collaborative environment focused on developing a tangible plan for neighborhood recovery.
I hope you will be able to participate in the first Visioning Workshop, EAST SHORE, to be held on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 at Staten Island Technical High School. The Program begins at 9:45 AM and ends at 4 PM. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Please share this invitation with your fellow civic leaders and neighbors who you believe would like to participate.
Thank you. Your knowledge of the area and involvement will provide immeasurable value to this program. Please contact any of the SImagines Executuve Directors for further details and to confirm your participation:
