New York humanitarian aid organization partners to bring relief to Hurricane Sandy victims.
Colonie, NY, April 10, 2013 – Capital Region based Humanitarian aid organization Jezreel International and Upstate New York Cares today announced that they would work together in cooperation with corporate and nonprofit donors, to bring relief to Hurricane Sandy victims in Staten Island, NY. Jezreel will provide a full year of tractor-trailer shipments of building supplies, furniture, appliances, tools, personal care products and food to support long-term Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts.
The Sandy-focused effort is the fourth to date involving the Home Depot retail chain as principal supplier for building and renovation supplies, with earlier shipments to Union City and Tom’s River, New Jersey. A shipment of supplies will leave Albany on April 15th and arrive on Staten Island on April 16th. Media and Officials are invited to join the representatives of Jezreel International, Upstate New York Cares, Government representatives, The Staten Island Long Term Recovery Organization, Home Depot and other donors of this commitment at Jezreel International’s warehouse:

Jezreel International is a non-profit, tax-exempt humanitarian aid relief organization. Since 1996, Jezreel has shipped millions of dollars of humanitarian aid to those in need across the globe. Seventeen shipments have already been sent for Hurricane Sandy disaster relief in New Jersey and New York. Donations are sought to ease the burden of transportation costs.
Upstate New York Cares was formed by Christian Schultz immediately after Hurricane Sandy struck the east coast in 2012. She has since concentrated her efforts on the hard hit middle class neighborhoods of Staten Island and has been actively networking with Upstate New York businesses, individuals, and animal lovers, providing donations and problem-solving services.
The Staten Island Long Term Recovery Organization is a coalition of over 60 grassroots, non-profit, and faith organizations that has met weekly since December to provide coordinated services to Staten Islander recovering after Hurricane Sandy.
