From Jul 04, 2013 to Jul 10, 2013 (included)
|Where to Turn will be working with Beacon of Hope NY and Elaine Kelly of the Mold and Environmental Discussion Group.
We will be collecting data to possibly pursue legal action against the Health Department, the banks that hold the mortgages on abandoned homes and possibly the city in regards to their negligence in remediating mold and safeguarding victims from its effects.
We have already spoken to a few lawyers including Norman Siegel who might consider helping us if we can get them enough data.
If you want to help we need the following
Addresses of abandoned homes
Photos of mold in homes (interior and exterior)
Contact information of any victims with Sandy related illnesses.
We are continuing to collect data. We will schedule a meeting with our Staten Island Elected Officials (all will be invited) we will then schedule a press conference for next weekend to make public our plan....Please keep sending in any mold related information and keep calling your Assembly Members and 311. If you have any questions contact Deidre, Scott, Elaine or myself. We have already gotten information from New Orleans and Florida.....
Any pertinent documentation on the health impact of mold.
Also you can call your Assembly Member and tell them to vote for the passage of the bill to set mold remediation standards.
Finally you can continue to call 311 and report mold issues.
We will reach out to our elected officials for help and will keep you posted on our progress.
